Description

Fridays, April 16 and 23, 10:30am-1:00pm

Sew a precise and perfect block with ease, thanks to the It’s So Emma Foundation Papers! This class will introduce you to the wonderful world of Foundation Paper Piecing, using pre-printed papers designed to be Jelly Roll friendly. Working with the 12” Log Cabin papers, you will be guided step-by-step through the entire sewing process starting with cutting your fabric and finishing with a quilt top ready for quilting! Students are encouraged to work and sew along during class with designated time for cutting/sewing, questions, and sharing. This class is open to all levels of quilters and is a great way to try foundation paper piecing for the first time. If you choose to work with a different style or size of It’s So Emma Foundation Papers, please know that fabric sizing and cutting dimensions will be up to you, although the techniques taught and demonstrated in class will be consistent and easy to follow.

The first class will focus on the techniques of foundation paper piecing, cutting and preparing fabric, and sewing blocks. The second class will cover layout options and block positioning, construction of the final quilt top, and tips for managing the paper backed blocks.

Classes will be held virtually over Zoom, so a computer, tablet, or phone with working microphone and camera is required. The class will not be recorded, and all instruction will be given live. All information will be sent through email, so be sure to register with the email address you will be using for class. Please direct any questions to LizCPQW@gmail.com
