Blending the Japanese techniques of Sashiko stitching and Boro mending with African/Western Indian technique of Kawandi quilting you’ll create a patchwork piece made entirely by hand with beautiful big stitches. Your project is then ready to be finished by framing, binding as a mug rug or used in a machine pieced project such as a zippered pouch, the possibilities are endless. The color! The texture! Come join Jaimie (@bashfulquilter) and slow down this fall with this beautiful 100% by hand technique.
Class is technique-based and will focus on preparing fabrics and stitching by hand. Instructor will describe finishing ideas and show samples during class. Previous Sashiko stitching experience is helpful.
