Instructor: Jaimie

Part class, part competitive event, join Jaimie and your fellow quilters to make a Jelly Roll Race quilt, a simple quilt using pre-cut 2.5” strips called a “jelly roll”.  The "race" part refers to the competitive spirit we will have to finish the quilt top quickly. This will be a fun, high energy event meant to bring fun, laughter, and your competitive edge out to play. Prizes will be awarded.

This project will yield a beautiful lap quilt, 50” x 64” quilt top, with randomly placed strips for a truly unique make! This is a very beginner-friendly project and only requires basic knowledge of your sewing machine and ability to stitch a consistent ¼” seam allowance.

Supply list:

One jelly roll (40– 2.5” strips of fabric —the shop has stocked loads of beautiful jelly rolls to choose from that would be perfect for this project! You can also cut your strips from corresponding fabrics but be sure to cut consistently.)

You will also need to bring: a sewing machine in good working order, with a fresh needle and two full bobbins, and fabric scissors. No pattern necessary and no homework!
