Start your new year with a new skill! Join Jaimie (@BashfulQuilter) for this beginners class as we explore the art of hand embroidery using beautiful animal designs from Stephanie Carswell's Embroidery Made Easy: Awesome Animals. This book includes 12 beginner-friendly embroidery patterns of animals to choose from, and all designs transfer on easily via iron.
This class will cover beginner stitches that are included in these design, such as the running stitch, back stitch, chain stitch and French knots.
Supply list (click here for a downloadable PDF):
- Stephanie Carswell’s Embroidery Made Easy: Awesome Animals book - bring the whole book but choose one animal that you will work on in class.
- 7” or 8” embroidery hoop
- 2x 10” squares of white or light colored solid fabric
- Embroidery needle, such as chenille
- Assorted embroidery floss (ideally 6 colors)
- Scissors for snipping thread
This is a beginner handwork class and does not assume previous embroidery experience. Please practice threading a needle and making knots prior to class though. We will iron on designs during class.
