Rulers aren’t just for longarm quilters anymore. Machine quilting using rulers on a domestic sewing machine has been getting a lot of attention in the quilting world recently. If you’ve purchased a ruler foot and some rulers and want to get started using them, this class is for you.
You’ll get an overview of the ruler foot and rulers and lots of tips in using them. We’ll practice designs using a straight-edge ruler – parallel lines, crosshatching, and diamonds. Then we’ll play with a circle ruler, stitching rows of circles, interlocking circles, spirographs and clamshells. Finally, we’ll look at a wavy ruler and stitch some parallel and intersecting curvy/wavy lines.
Working with rulers will open a whole new world of free-motion quilting to you. It takes a little practice, but once you get the hang of machine quilting with rulers, you’ll be hooked!
The ruler foot for your machine and rulers are required (see supply list).
This class is for confident free-motion quilters.
