In this workshop, Kaffe's traditional snowball quilt block is made fabulous by his color choices. In this workshop, with Kaffe and Brandon's guidance, you will create your unique Country Snowball Quilt.

Choose your fabrics with an eye to the color or mood you wish to explore. Keep your choices harmonious. For example, if you would like to explore RED, bring reds, oranges, reddish purples, magenta, warm brown, etc.
you will need 20 or so 1/4 and 1/2 yard cuts of different large-scale fabrics. Please DO NOT cut fabrics before the class.
For the points, you may wish to wait and purchase fabrics at the workshop after you have set up your octagons. The quilt is more successful if the points' colorway is different to your octagons' colorway. The points create a frame to set off your octagon, thereby creating a beautiful snowball.
Please feel free to bring any fabrics you would like to use for the workshop - they do not have to be Kaffe Fassett Collective fabrics. If you are not sure how you are going to proceed, that is OK! Please bring your stash favorites and be prepared to shop with Kaffe and Brandon during the workshop.
No sewing takes place during the workshop. No sewing machines needed.
In his lectures and workshops, Kaffe Fassett reveals how he experiences the colors and basic shapes around him, how we can train our own eyes to see this rewarding source of creativity, and how we can, just as he does, combine striking fabrics with simple shapes to create our own spectacular quilt designs.
In each workshop, Kaffe & Brandon will teach and mentor each participant's own personal color journey through fabric choice and placement. Everyone will follow the same process of choosing fabrics as Kaffe and Brandon do when they are designing, working on a design wall flannel. The design wall flannel is then rolled up with their quilt, to take home at the end of the day. No sewing takes place during the workshop. No sewing machines needed.
