Blending the Japanese techniques of Sashiko stitching and Boro mending with African/Western Indian technique of Kawandi quilting you’ll create a patchwork piece made entirely by hand with beautiful big stitches. Your project is then ready to be finished by framing, binding as a mug rug or used in a machine pieced project such as a zippered pouch, the possibilities are endless. The color! The texture! Come join Jaimie (@bashfulquilter) and slow down this fall with this beautiful 100% by hand technique.

Class is technique-based and will focus on preparing fabrics and stitching by hand. Instructor will describe finishing ideas and show samples during class. Previous Sashiko stitching experience is helpful. Instructor will be offering a separate beginner Sashiko stitching class earlier in the day as this class - register here!
